You’ve heard of green juice, here’s what you need to know about 'Ocean Juice'

As the trend for juicing everything from kale to courgettes prevails, let’s look at the newest offering on the block.

Maybe it’s because it’s January and we’re still feeling the effects of our gluttonous December, but it seems you can’t escape advertisements and endorsements of juice detoxes, cleanses and tonics boasting liquid superfoods.

Irish company Pure Green were one of the first to offer cleansing packages, whereby people sign up for three or five days of drinking fresh cold-pressed juice in order to give their systems a reboot.

The company have now launched Marine Green - a super-healthy blend which is officially the first ‘ocean juice’ to be retailed in Ireland.

The bottle boasts nine ingredients commonly found in the average green juice - spinach, broccoli, cucumber, ginger, avocado, apple, celery and lemon. Each of the previously mentioned are known for their detoxing and vitality boosting qualities.

Also included in the blend is an ultra-nutrient rich product named marine phytoplankton.

Leading scientists say that this microscopic algae is more powerful than chlorella, spirulina, acai berries, fish oil, and almost any other superfood you are familiar with.

Not surprising really when you consider that this microfood feeds about 95% of the whales, fish and other species in the ocean.

The microscopic algae is chock full of antioxidants, fatty acids, amino acids and phytonutrients. It promises to boost the immune system, enhance brain function and improve cellular repair.

Marine phytoplankton is also proven to help reduce the onset of diabetes, heart disease and certain cancers.

The limited edition Marine Green tastes just like their regular 'Liquid Lunch' or 'Enerjuice offerings' - a smooth, earthy mix of natural flavour that works as both a perk-me-up mid day snack or invigorating breakfast.

All of the Pure Green juices are also gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan friendly.
