An Irish restaurant is giving a discount for the entire month of February to any customer who exchanges a kiss before paying their bill.

Tribeton in Galway is offering the 11pc “kisscount” to customers in honour of Valentine’s Day which falls next week.

Monika Talar, one of the restaurant’s managers, says Tribeton’s staff are getting pecks on the cheek as well.

“We thought it would be nice for customers to get the kisscount and rather than giving everyone 10pc, instead we’re giving them 11pc for the whole of February.”

“We’ve had a few kissing customers already today.”

“Most likely they end up kissing our host instead of each other, the poor girl,” she joked. “But it’s great feedback.”

“Most of our customers are not locals. When it comes to dinner, it’s tourists.”

“It could be a friend, partner, family member, or a stranger, as long as the other person is willing to be kissed.”

The Tribeton ‘kisscount’ is running from Monday to Friday during the month of February.
