PANTO queen Twink opened a pop-up Christmas stall outside her house in Knocklyon yesterday.

The entertainer, real name Adele King, set up the stall on Idrone Avenue with an array of treats.

Twink (63) has embraced a new career as a fine cake baker and has been making appearances at markets on Dublin's southside in recent months.

She said the last few weeks at Terenure's Bush Park were cancelled due to tree damage, so she decided to put up a mini marquee in the gateway of her home.

Business was brisk, and her daughter, soprano Chloe Agnew, was on hand to help dish out the cakes and buns.

"I'll be damned if all the beautiful Christmas goodies I've spent countless sleepless hours and days making and decorating go to waste," she said.

"Even my darling Chloe lent a hand, painting little snowman faces and bagging and ribboning little cake goodies.

"At my age there are very few 'firsts' left in life. But life is for living, so this ranks as a most definite first for me."

Several local shoppers made their way across the street to buy some of Twink's festive fancies.

When asked about the showy Santa Claus apron she was wearing, she said: "Well, I am the Panto queen, after all."

Twink's little dog, Teddy, was also receiving a lot of attention from shoppers thanks to his Christmas jumper.
