Town Bar and Grill is back in Saison
ONE of Dublin's most high-profile restaurants will reopen its doors again this week under new ownership.
Town Bar and Grill has been re-launched as French-influenced restaurant Saison, serving only foods that are in season.
The Kildare Street haunt, which has long been a favourite of Irish politicians and celebrities, was taken over by the restaurateur Ali Barker who also owns the La Bodega tapas restaurant in Ranelagh.
Ms Barker told the Sunday Independent: "I do feel pressure re-launching such a well-known place, but we will do our best.
"We have transformed the interior, redecorating it in a teal and charcoal grey. The atmosphere is relaxed, much like Town Bar had been, with the same price range and it will have a formal white tablecloth service. There has been a good buzz about it so I think all the regular customers will come back in."
Chef Graeme Dodrill, formerly with One Pico, has taken control of the menu.
"I think there has been an uplift in the economy, you can feel the optimism in the air and the restaurant industry is definitely starting to pick up. People are getting out again."
