Green tea is high in anti-oxidants, which have health-giving properties. It is anecdotally connected with the low levels of cancer and heart disease in Japan and China, where green tea is popular. Mint tea is soothing to the stomach and aids digestion. Camomile tea is calming and soothes the stomach. Pu-erh tea is said to break down fat and so aid slimming. It sprang to prominence when Victoria Beckham was seen drinking it. Tea in general does contain caffeine, but releases it more slowly than coffee. The caffeine in tea acts on the central nervous system rather than the adrenal system as is the case with coffee.
