Staying In: summer's in sight
Smithwicks has long been a brand associated with old fashioned pints, but in the past while they've upped their game and gone after the craft beer market.
Their Pale Ale was a hit with younger generations, and this Long Summer brew is a lighter tasting alternative to the original with aromas of citrus, caramel, green tea and tropical flavours. An change from cider and Pimms as a sunny weather drink? Perhaps. Buy it in a 500ml bottle for €2.59, ABV 4.5%.
Break out the barbie
M&S are known for their delicious party food year round, but they really excel in the summer months. From deliciously sinful chorizo burgers (too good) to fresh salads and sides all made easy, there's something for every taste. Our faves? The posh dogs, and the very tasty juices, 3 for €7 this week. Try them as a mixer or by themselves.
We may not be quite there yet, but it's not preposterous to suggest a barbecue or some al fresco dining. We've got everything you need to host a garden party, for two or ten (people, not degrees Celsius). Check out the gallery above.
