Spanish Spicy Garlic Prawns

Serves two.

You will need

2 tbsps extra-virgin olive oil

2 garlic cloves, chopped

1 chilli, hot or mild, to taste, deseeded and chopped

1 tsp smoked paprika, or standard paprika

1 shallot, finely chopped

300kg raw king prawns, peeled


Heat the oil over a gentle heat and add the garlic, chilli, paprika and shallot.

Cook until the shallot is soft, without any colour. Add the prawns to the pan and increase the heat slightly. Cook for five to 10 minutes, or until the prawns have turned dark pink.

Serve with crusty bread to mop up the flavoursome juices.
