Simple, quick, nutritious: Catherine Fulvio launches new Irish recipe website

Believe it or not, but almost 70 per cent of Irish people are now cooking from scratch.

And, with a massive sixty per cent of us claiming to have a ‘high level’ of confidence in the kitchen, TV chef Catherine Fulvio is now urging people to use as much fresh Irish produce as they possibly can.

And there’s help at hand.

Fulvio has just helped launch a new recipe website called , which encourages people to cook simple, quick and nutritious dishes.

“By including fresh produce such as vegetables, herbs as well as  Irish quality meats including fresh Spring lamb you can make a huge difference to the quality and standard of the meal you serve,” Catherine said, “not to mention the benefits to the Irish economy.”

The website, which is set up by entrepreneur Sarah Carbery, also teaches people how to grow their own fruit and vegetables.

Michael Kelly of GIY Ireland is the man behind the top tips and said growing your own food can help people understand what they’re eating.

“Studies show that food growers are more likely to eat fruits and vegetables, show higher levels of knowledge about nutrition and are more likely to continue healthy eating habits throughout their lives,” he said.

Alongside the recipes will be ‘how to’ videos that are set to demystify cooking skills and daily and weekly menu planning, as well as shopping lists and the latest in ‘foodie’ news and events nationwide.

Editor of I Love Cooking Ciara McDonnell says; “We will help you transform mealtimes and with a few simple changes, advance planning we will show you how you can prepare delicious dishes based on any budget. We will help even the most limited home chef to become more adventurous in the kitchen.”
