Poppy and Crispy Shallots, Ham and Cheese Bap

INGREDIENTS (makes 4) 

50g butter

1 tsp Dijon mustard

2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

2 tsp poppy seeds

4 brioche or floury baps

200g ham, thinly sliced

200g Cheddar cheese, thinly sliced

4 tsp crispy shallots (optional)

Salt and pepper 

Preheat the oven to 220˚C/gas 200°C/gas 7. 

In a small saucepan, melt  the butter. Remove from the  heat and add Dijon mustard, the  Worcestershire sauce and poppy seeds. Season if required.

Slice the baps lengthways and keep the top aside. Brush each bap base with the flavoured butter.

Layer the ham, cheese and add the crispy shallots (or your favourite topping like tomato,  cucumber etc).

Add the top to each bap and place in the oven for 2-3 minutes to warm up lightly.  Enjoy while warm.
