After all the feasts over the festive season, it’s understandable that we now rush toward lighter, healthier meals. It’s almost part of the routine at this point: in our home kitchen, the slow-braised casseroles and hearty roasts make way for vegetable-forward meals, brighter winter ingredients, citrus and spice.

But rather than going cold turkey and instantly switching from rib-sticking brown food to a diet of raw vegetables and green juices, I want to ease you into the new year with some new food intention recipes: the type of recipes required to face down the darker days of winter while also veering towards lighter eating with brilliant, bright flavours.
