CHEESEBURGER VS VEGGIE BURGER: NAUGHTY: Lamb and feta burgers As the sun continues to perch precariously overhead, barbecues are being wheeled out of sheds.
For a fancy take on the cheeseburger, try a lamb and feta burger. Combine 400g lamb mince with 100g crumbled feta, one small, grated red onion, one tablespoon of harissa paste and a small handful of chopped parsley. Once mixed, shape into four patties. Grill for five minutes on each side, or until cooked to your taste. Enjoy on crusty rolls with a bit of rocket and tsatsiki. NICE: Vegan black bean burgers
This fab bean burger comes from the ‘Daily Garnish’ blog. Take two cans of black beans.
Preheat your oven to 150°C. Combine ½ cup of dry rolled oats and ¼ cup
of pumpkin seeds in a food processor until coarsely chopped, then
add two grated carrots. Add ¾ of the beans, ½ tsp cinnamon, ½ tsp
cumin, ½ tsp coriander, ½ tsp chili powder, ½ tsp onion powder, ¼
tsp cayenne pepper, 1 tsp sea salt and ¼ tsp black pepper, and 1 tbsp
olive oil. Process until combined. Spoon the mixture into a bowl
and fold in the rest of the beans. Form into six burgers, place on a
baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes, turning once. Pop on the
