A burger restaurant in Galway has been named as the home to the best burger in Ireland.
Handsome Burger was announced as the winner yesterday for National Burger Day which occurs today.
Almost 20,000 votes were cast for what diners believe is the purveyor of the best burger, out of a pool of 500 burger outlets around the country.
Handsome Burger's co-owners Rory McCormack and Cathal O’Connor say their secret is using fresh, local Galway produce.
Earlier this year, Handsome Burger opened at Eatyard in Dublin.
Rory McCormack said “The award is all the more exciting having started the business as a pop-up restaurant only three years ago. We could never have imagined we’d be celebrating an award of this level so soon."
"It’s times like these that makes all of the hard work worthwhile!”
Kepak is hosting Ireland’s National Burger Day across the country today, and certain burger restaurants are offering two for one on some burgers. For a full list of participating outlets please visit www.nationalburgerday.ie
