Kitchen Hero Donal ties knot with Swedish sweetheart Sofie
Celebrity chef and 'Weekend' magazine food writer Donal Skehan wed his long-term partner Sofie Larsson during an intimate ceremony over the weekend.
The happy couple married on Saturday in a small private ceremony attended by friends and family.
The joyous occasion was watched by more than 30 of Sofie's relatives who travelled over from her native Sweden for the wedding.
The couple's Irish friends and family were headed up by his parents, Dermot and Liz. The newlyweds later enjoyed a reception in the Lisnavagh House in Co Carlow.
The bride wore a satin and tulle gown from Sweden, a short veil and carried a posy of red roses, while the groom wore a royal blue Ted Baker suit. Joining the couple as they walked out from the ceremony was their much loved dog, Max, a Border Collie/Jack Russell cross rescue dog.
The couple have been together since 2006, when 'Kitchen Hero' star Donal met Sofie when she was visiting his native Howth.
Wedding guest Michele McGrath, who formerly sang with Donal in the band Industry, shared a group photo from the ceremony on social media.
Donal had firmly ruled out doing the cooking on the day and instead, the wedding was catered by the Eastern Seaboard restaurant in Drogheda. The couple are now honeymooning in Sorrento.
Donal told the Irish Independent how much he was looking forward to time with Sofie as he has only just returned home after filming a TV series in five countries in four weeks.
