THE best way to entice someone on a walk is with the promise of some food at the end. All our favourite treks end in sustenance. What's a stroll on Dun Laoghaire pier without a Teddy's cone? Or Lugnaquilla without a sandwich at the top?

So we find the concept of Eveleen Coyle's Fab Food Trails really appealing. Fab Food Trails are a well established must for visitors to Cork, Dublin and soon, Kilkenny.

While away a leisurely morning strolling through these delicious destinations, grazing on moreish morsels by local producers, cafes and restaurants. Along with fascinating cultural commentary by your guide, there are insider tips on that all-important question (usually asked with one's mouth full) "Where are we having dinner tonight?"

The Kilkenny Food Trail will be on the first Saturday of the summer months (starting from Saturday, June 7) with occasional Thursday outings to coincide with the farmers' market. Visit
