Chart topping rapper Professor Green was in town to talk about his new album….but hit two birds with one stone when he got his fried chicken fix.
Professor Green appeared on 2FM Radio this morning to discuss his third album ‘Growing Up In Public’ with hosts Nicky Byrne and Jenny Greene.
The presenters had heard through the grapevine about his die-hard grá for popular Dublin restaurant CrackBIRD.
“We have a surprise for you,” they told the rapper, who laughed as he said he “hadn’t even eaten breakfast yet.”
The last time the 30-year-old was on Irish soil, performing in Derry, he mentioned his love for CrackBIRD and was amazed when the restaurant organised a group of fans to drive “boxes and boxes” of chicken four and half hours outside the city to reach him.
Professor Green admitted that he was probably going to have the same meal for his dinner, as he mentioned his wife Millie Mackintosh is just as keen.
When the reality starlet turned fashion designer was in Ireland last month to launch her debut clothes line, she attended the Dame Street restaurant with pals.
Green, real name Stephen Manderson, laughed as he agreed it’s hard to imagine his svelte and health conscious wife scoffing down buckets of chicken.
“People are probably looking at her going ‘how does she eat Crackbird and look like that?!’ She eats more than anyone I bloomin’ know,” he stated.
Speaking of his wife, he credited her with taking control of their nuptials in 2013.
“Hats off to her, she did so much of the organisation.. the day was the best thing ever and on our honeymoon in Capri we bumped into Chris De Burgh. He kept singing Lady in Red... it was so weird,” he recalled.
