The full Irish: Clonakilty introduce new vegan pudding
Clonakilty are introducing a new vegan pudding.
Clonakilty Food Co, makers of the award-winning Clonakilty Blackpudding and Clonakilty Whitepudding, have launched a new vegetable pudding.
The Clonakilty Veggie Pudding is made with oats, onions, black beans, carrots and ‘a distinctive spice mix’.
The makers assure white and black pudding connoisseurs “the characteristic texture and spicy aroma” associated with their product will remain the same.
The Veggie Pudding is free from artificial additives and preservatives, gluten-free and suitable for Vegans. It is also a source of protein and fibre.
The Clonakilty black pudding was first made 150 years ago in West Cork.
Colette Twomey, MD and Co-Founder, Clonakilty Food Co said the company is constantly expanding and evolving to reflect the tastes of our times.
“Over the years we have continued to evolve our product … [we have] expanded our range to include White Pudding, Sausages, Rashers and now a Vegetable Pudding.,” Ms Twomey said.
“We are excited that our range continues to offer something to suit the tastes of all the family. We are confident that our new Veggie Pudding matches the quality and taste that Clonakilty’s most loyal customers know and love.”
Veganism has become increasingly mainstream in recent years with more and more food manufacturers and restaurant outlets offering vegan options.
In 2016, Guinness went vegan when they stopped using fish bladders in its brewing process, after two and a half centuries.
