Roz Purcell's 'delight' as demand sees her pop-up health food cafe sell out
Roz Purcell opened the pop-up cafe on Dublin's Baggot Street yesterday - and there was a queue of people wanting to try out her super-healthy recipes.
A slice of sun-dried tomato, feta and basil bread washed down with a protein shake.
That's one of the treats on offer from Roz Purcell's pop-up cafe - and the demand is high.
Business was brisk - she was sold out before the cafe was due to close at 3pm.
Disappointed customers were asked to return to the cafe today, which is open until Friday.
A busy Roz said she was exhausted but "delighted" at the success of the first day.
The 25-year-old's menu included green soup, peanut-butter-and-banana cookies, as well as protein smoothies.
Roz was assisted by her dad John, who travelled from her native Tipperary to give her a hand.
Her other-half, Voice of Ireland mentor Niall 'Bressie' Breslin, also popped in during the day to give her some moral support.
Roz told the Herald that Bressie was putting himself to good use - shipping vegetables to her from their city centre home.
But with the high demand, Roz and her dad were soon under pressure in the kitchen.
"We were like John and Mary from Fr Ted," she said.
Roz rustled up an affordable menu with protein shakes - at €5 - the dearest item on the menu, while a slice of sundried tomato, feta and basil bread went for €2.50.
All proceeds from the Natural Born Feeder Cafe'will go to the Capuchin Day Centre, which provides meals for homeless people.
Roz's pop-up cafe coincides with the launch of her first cookbook, Natural Born Feeder.
Roz and Bressie have been together over three years and are going from strength to strength. The couple are known for their joint fondness for working out and eating "clean".
Although both were coy about going public with their relationship at first, they are now seen out together regularly and post snaps on social media.
Roz isn't the first Irish model to put her healthy eating tips and advice into print - former Miss World Rosanna Davison released her cookery book before Christmas.
Rosanna's Eat Yourself Beautiful topped the book charts before and after the festive season.
Rosanna's book was so successful that she's already working on her second.
"This book will focus on what people should be eating after their gym session," Rosanna said.
