Roald Dahl day: Cake exhibition opens in Dublin

A world of pure imagination can be found this weekend at the Ark in Dublin’s Temple Bar, where fantastic bakers will be exhibiting cakes inspired by author Roald Dahl.

The magical cakes, some of which took up to nine days to make, are being displayed in celebration of Roald Dahl Day on Saturday.

The sweet creations take the form of some of Dahl’s most memorable characters including The BFG, Fantastic Mr. Fox and of course Charlie and Willy Wonka who both celebrate their 50th anniversary this year.

More than 50 of Ireland’s most talented bakers will show off their creations on Saturday and Sunday in the Temple Bar Venue and entry is free, making it the ideal family weekend activity.
