Cork City eatery is Bord Bia’s Just Ask Restaurant of the Year
No. 5 Fenn’s Quay in Cork City has been crowned Bord Bia’s Just Ask Restaurant of the Year for 2015.
The restaurant, located on Sheares Street in the city, was awarded the accolade for its dedication to supporting local artisan suppliers.
Head chef of No. 5 Fenn’s Quay Kate Lawlor said: “Our philosophy is simple; we use only the best produce from the finest local suppliers and treat them with care and attention to detail.”
“We encourage our customers to ask our staff if they are looking for any further information on our sourcing and are thrilled to receive this recognition from Georgina Campbell and Bord Bia,” she said.

Kate’s menus are heavily influenced by the local ingredients in season and on offer in Cork including fresh seafood from O’Connell’s Fish Merchants and meat from O’Mahony Butchers in the city.
The menus also reflect the rich crop of cheese producers present in the county supporting Gubbeen and buffalo mozzarella from Toonsbridge.
Specialist mushrooms are regularly sourced from North Cork from Ballyhoura Mountain Mushrooms.
