Aer Lingus has kick started holiday season with a Summer shake up of their on board Bia menu, which includes a wide range of fresh sandwiches and snacks produced in Ireland.
The new seasonal menu, which was created in collaboration with chef and restaurateur Clodagh McKenna, is available on all short haul Aer Lingus flights and also is on offer on board flights to San Francisco and Orlando.
Those embarking on journeys with the airline this summer can tuck into a delicious egg and rocket sandwich, presented upon a floury Waterford Blaa and a new turkey sandwich, made with Irish turkey breast and accompanied by red peppers and paprika mayo served upon fresh malted brown bread.
A new tuna bap and a raspberry and orange muffin will also be added to the menu from next week.
“I am so excited to launch the new summer menu as it is full of light, tasty and fresh flavours that we all look for when travelling,” said Clodagh speaking at the launch.
“From the fluffy Waterford Blaa with free-range egg and fresh rocket and my Raspberry and Orange Muffin which is delightful with a coffee or tea at any time of the day, to my fresh tasting Tuna Salad with sweetcorn on a brown bap and the healthy Turkey on granary bread with roasted peppers.
There’s so much to choose from on this new menu... I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do," she said.
The successful collaboration with McKenna was first launched in November 2013 and has impressed with its focus on supporting and promoting Irish produce.
Aer Lingus Chief Revenue Officer Mike Rutter said: “Since the launch of BIA last November, the feedback has been very positive from customers. They have told us that they enjoyed sampling the food available on offer from our ‘foodie island’, where we have sourced quality, fresh Irish ingredients while offering good value for money.
