Autumnal pinhead oatmeal ingredients
Autumnal Pinhead Oatmeal Porridge
1 cup of pinhead oatmeal
4 cups of water
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 grated apple
Sprinkle of nuts and seeds to serve
Place the oats, water, cinnamon and raisins in a pot. Bring to the boil, reduce and heat and simmer for 25 minutes until creamy and cooked through.
Serve with grated apple, and a sprinkling of nuts and seeds.
This recipe makes quite a large pot, ideal for making ahead and reheating a portion each morning.
If you soak the porridge overnight, it will also cook faster.
Another method to try is to slow cook your porridge in a slow cooker overnight. This gives a really creamy, fluffy texture.
