WATCH: Heartbreaking video shows young boy singing birthday song for his baby sister months after her tragic death
Baby Ava would have had first birthday last week
A heartbreaking video of a young boy singing a song to a picture of his little sister who passed away has been viewed more than one million times on Twitter.
The clip shows little Alexander Deais (4) sing the song Remember Me from the new Pixar film Coco.
The video was posted on what would have been little Ava's first birthday. She was born in December 2016 with hydronephrosis, a defect that affects the kidneys, the functions of the ureters and the bladders and made her prone to infections.
She passed away in May of 2017.
Recently, the Texas-based family went to see Coco in the cinema. The film follow an aspiring musician entering the 'Land of the Dead' to meet his great-great-grandfather. It was an emotional experience for the family, said Alexander's father Samir.
"We cried as we could not help but think of Ava the whole time we watched Coco," he told Independent.ie.
"Alexander really seemed to understand more after watching Coco. He wanted to sing remember me to Ava for her first birthday."
Now, every night before bed, Alexandar blows a kiss to a photo of his little sister.
