Mum who faced backlash for buying children 300 gifts last year is spending even more this Christmas
Last year a mother made headlines for indulging her children with over 300 gifts but this Christmas she's gone even further.
Mother-of-three Emma Tapping caused a social media storm last year when she posted a photo of her Christmas tree, swamped by a tower of presents.
But this year, Ms Tapping has gone even further by adding more gifts to her Christmas pile; increasing her haul from 87 to 96 gifts per child.
"Another year of hard graft, saving and planning. Another year of my family making me proud everyday," she wrote on Facebook.
"They deserve a great Christmas. The haters will hate but nothing and no one will change how I do Christmas."
Ms Tapping is starring in a new documentary, Xmas Excess: Parents Splash the Cash which will air on Channel 5 tonight.
The Isle of Man woman said she bought her daughters -teenager Mia and nine-year-old Ella - and toddler son, Tatum, more gifts this year as well as gifts for her partner James.
Ms Tapping, who runs a holiday cottage on the island, said the spending is worth it when she sees her children's reaction on Christmas morning. She has also insisted her children are not spoiled.
"If you ask me if I spoil my kids, I say at Christmas yes I do but I don't throughout the year. They get the necessities, the school uniform, the things they need but we don't go on holidays abroad or big shopping sprees.
"Anything they want they get for Christmas."
