The wheels on the bus

One unique aspect of Park Academy is its four Party Buses that ferry children around on frequent trips.

" We have retired Garda officers who drive our buses for us," says Mary McGibney, co-founder of Park Academy. " They would do a lot of trips to old folks homes in the community. We would also go to the beach, to farms and to the cinema."

In addition, children get to visit other Park Academy crèches to try out facilities such as the Sticky Fingers cookery room in the Bray crèche, the indoor Rompus Room in Beacon Court and the Dance Studio in Eden Gate.

" They get to make friends in other centres and it just makes it a community. The centre in one crèche may go to play in the Jungle Gym gardens in Cherrywood, which are amazing. We pool our resources."
