Santa was hard at work last night – but so was the stork.

Two mums in Cork welcomed their own little Christmas arrivals last night.

Iona Neascu, from Cork city, gave birth to baby girl Alessa Mary at 2:12 am this morning.

And Fiona O'Leary from Castletownroche gave birth to a little girl at 6:10 am.

Both baby girls made their arrivals into the world at Cork University Hospital.

And their overjoyed families have another reason to celebrate an unforgettable Christmas Day.
