Pregnant Amanda Holden in hospital
Amanda Holden, the eight-months pregnant judge of Britain's Got Talent, has been admitted to hospital.
The actress pulled out of the auditions in Blackpool for the talent content today after she admitted herself to hospital yesterday.
A spokesman for the star said she could not confirm reports she had gone into labour but said the TV star is in hospital for "observation".
Holden, 40, proudly showed off her baby bump when she attended auditions in Manchester last week.
She had been due to join fellow judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams this morning but instead "took herself" to hospital, her spokeswoman added.
The mother-of-one, who has never confirmed her due date, had a stillborn son last year. She has a daughter, Lexi, six, with music producer husband Chris Hughes.
After she appeared at the Manchester auditions, Holden faced criticism for wearing high heels while heavily pregnant.
In response, the star Tweeted: "I walk less than 25metres a day in heels whilst up the duff! Just saying!"
Leaving his hotel yesterday, Mr Cowell said: "We have had a chat and fingers crossed all is fine at the moment. There's no point taking risks, is there."
