Perfecting eyeliner while trying to push out a baby might sound like a nightmare task, but not for New York mum Alaha Majid who made sure she had a fresh face of make-up applied before she met her new baby.

The beauty blogger shared a series of photographs on her Instagram page, in which she is accompanied by her extensive make-up supply on her hospital table.

"Yes, I was doing my makeup while I was in labour! I was pausing during contractions and picking up where I left off once the contractions passed. I only packed some of my favourite products in my hospital bag."

Majid’s hospital bag contained a few things that might not be so typical, including a full-coverage contour kit, false lashes, an eye shadow palette and liquid lipsticks.

Beneath one of the photos Majid wrote, "getting ready for my princess to make her appearance".

The new mum and her husband welcomed baby Sofia, who weighed 8lbs 13oz, and Majid’s make-up was completely intact.

"I had a natural birth so it was tough, but I'm lucky enough to have been able to experience it firsthand and am so grateful."

Hello beautiful people, first off, thank you for the love on my latest instagram posts that featured me doing my makeup during labor. As promised, below is a FULL list of makeup details!
