Presenter and expectant mum Aisling O'Loughlin has opened up about her fears over her tiny bump during pregnancy.

The mother-of-one is seven months pregnant with her second child, but she is barely showing it.

And Aisling (33) was told by her doctor to attend hospital for a scan to make sure that everything was going well.

The slim presenter was looking her usual stylish self when she turned out at a lingerie launch in Brown Thomas at the weekend, wearing a form fitting black dress.

While she is showing minimal bump, Aisling says she is definitely feeling the effects of pregnancy and is trying not to eat all around her.

"I had a moment where I was like' oh god I hope everything is OK'," she told the Herald. "The doctor thought it was small so he asked me to go for a scan.

"It wasn't so much worry as opposed to checking everything was OK."

The broadcaster said she was elated to find all was well with her second baby with partner and photographer Nicholas MacInnes.

"He is nice and normal, straight down the middle," she added.

"I was bigger the first time around when I was having Patrick, but I think that this baby must be lying down or something.

"He is a completely normal size, not too big and not too small."

The Xpose host will go on maternity leave from the station at the end of October. And the Clare native, who knows she will have a boy, is "counting the days".

"I am looking forward to taking it easy -- I am not going to be a martyr for the cause," she said.

"I think everyone at TV3 is looking forward to getting rid of me for a while," she laughed.

The Ballymount station has yet to decide who will replace Aisling, who feels taking a break is necessary.

"I have had a lucky escape so far in this pregnancy where I have felt good, but it's starting to catch up on me now," she said.

"I am not feeling the best and am very tired, so the doctor told me that it would be good to step back."

Aisling and Nicholas welcomed their first son, Patrick Nicholas, into the world in December 2011.

And it looks like the presenter will receive an early Christmas present again this year.
