Eight out of every 10 babies are now breastfeeding in the Dublin south east area - making it the area with highest rate in Ireland.

Breastfeeding is thriving in the area with an amazing 80pc of infants now feeding on their first visit, compared to two out of 10 in some areas.

A community event was organised by Dublin south east public health nurses, which was held at Jamie Oliver's restaurant in Dundrum town centre, where staff, mothers and children celebrated the success as part of National Breastfeeding Week.
