Jessica Simpson is thrilled with her pregnancy body, and apparently says her baby bump is “perfect”.

The singer-and-fashion designer is expecting her second child with fiancé Eric Johnson. Jessica famously gained 70lbs while she was pregnant with daughter Maxwell, and has vowed to be more sensible this time.

Jessica has been following a healthy diet and exercise regime and is already enjoying the results.

“Jessica realises she let herself off the hook regarding her diet and exercise the first time she was pregnant and that’s not going to happen this time. She’s been seeing her trainer four times a week and doing lots of walking, either outside or on her treadmill,” a source told British magazine Closer.

“She has a big TV in her home gym, so she can watch her favourite shows while she gets her miles in. She works out whenever Maxwell is asleep and says exercise is really keeping her calm. She’s so happy with how she looks this time around and says her bump is perfect.”

The 32-year-old blonde star has been photographed looking radiant as she proudly showed off her growing baby bump in recent weeks.

Jessica’s sensible approach has made a huge difference to her energy levels during her second pregnancy. However, she is still happy to indulge her yearning for her favourite junk food.

“Jessica says she has a lot more energy this time and that’s because of her diet and exercise. When she has a craving, instead of having three slices of cake, she has one,” the insider added. “She’s still eating fried chicken and all her favourite foods, but in moderation.”

Jessica previously admitted that she felt her life was “completely over” after she gained so much weight during her first pregnancy.

Since landing a deal to be the face of Weight Watchers after giving birth for the first time, she has vowed to follow a healthier eating plan.

"Now I'm pregnant again, and I'm looking at the scale, and I'm making the right decisions with what I'm eating," Jessica said. "I still have my desserts - just not four of them."
