JACK and Emily are the most popular baby names in Ireland.
Some 831 baby boys born last year were named Jack keeping it in the top spot which it's held since 2007, the Central Statistics Office reported.
And Emily was the top girl's name for the second year running, with 626 babies receiving this name.
The top five boys' names in 2012 were Jack, James, Daniel, Sean and Conor, all of which have been in the top five since 2007, though their order of preference within that have sometimes changed.
Isaac, Danny and Logan meanwhile were new entrants to the top 100 names for boys, with Danny the fastest growing.
For girls Emily, Sophie, Emma, Grace and Lily are the top five, with the order of preference unchanged since 2011.
Evie was the fastest growing name for girls last year soaring from 124th place in 2011 to 84th in 2012.
Amelie, Hanna, Maisie and Rose were other new entrants to the top 100 for girls.
No Irish girl's name made it into the top 10 list, with Aoife the highest ranked in 11th place, followed by Caoimhe in 16th place and Saoirse at 17.
For boys however Sean, Conor, Liam, Oisin and Darragh all made it into the top 20.
In general girls had a wider variety of names with 4,730 different names registered to newborns last year compared to 3,804.
Parents from outside Ireland had slightly different choices, with David and Matteo among the most popular names for families from western Europe.
