App guides parents-to-be along baby's journey
A new pregnancy app for the iPad that allows expectant parents to follow their baby's journey from conception to birth has been developed in collaboration with the National Maternity Hospital in Holles St, Dublin.
Life in the Womb provides a visual guide to pregnancy that explores the week-by-week progress of the developing baby using beautiful 3D generated imagery. Using a combination of illustrations, animations and interactive 3D features, Life in the Womb beautifully illustrates these milestones through the 40 weeks of pregnancy.
For mothers and fathers-to-be, the app illuminates key events including the baby's first time seeing, tasting, hearing, kicking and even the first heartbeat.
"This app has brought together an amazing team of artists, programmers, doctors and writers to create what we believe is an entirely new experience for expectant parents," said Michael Grant, co-founder of the Science Picture Company.
The Life in the Womb App is available for €4.49 from the App Store on iPad or at www.itunes.apple.com/app/id719075526.
