ANXIOUS students should remember there is life after the Leaving Certificate exams as results day looms.

HeadsUp, Rehab's mental health promotion project, said many students put themselves under pressure to achieve certain grades.

However, it said if students don't get the points for their first course, there are other ways to get into their chosen career.

"We want students to know that help is out there if things are getting on top of them. Results day itself can be highly emotional, with happiness for some and disappointment for others," said Collette Ryan, manager of HeadsUp.

Users should text HEADSUP to 50424 to access details on services nationwide. Since its launch five years ago over 18,300 people have used it, with the number of users doubling at exam results time.

It also offers a 'Mates' Mood' Facebook application. Users update mood icons, which range from "miserable" to "awesome", so that friends can keep tabs on how each other are feeling and give support on difficult days.
