Vicky to get taste of her own medicine
VICKY Brennan said she was stunned to score eight A1s in her Leaving Cert. And a cherished slot on UCC's medicine course is now within the high-achiever's grasp.
The 18-year-old Cork student (right) couldn't believe her eyes when she collected the results at Mount Mercy college yesterday.
"I was thrilled. I really couldn't believe it. I thought I'd do well but nothing like as well as eight A1s," she said.
"I wanted to do medicine so I knew I had to work really hard. But this is just a dream come true."
Vicky returned to her Spur Hill home to celebrate with her parents, Sean and Dallas.
"She worked so hard for this, she deserves every bit of it," Dallas Brennan said. "We're every bit as thrilled as she is about the whole thing."
Vicky was planning to celebrate last night with some of her school friends.
Mount Mercy Principal Mary Murphy said: "We're delighted for Vicky but we're also delighted for all our students. They were a lovely class and all worked very hard."
