Leaving Cert 2012: Higher Level Business paper given positive reaction from students
THE HIGHER Level Business paper received a broadly positive reaction from students in Dublin today while the Ordinary Paper earned a mixed response.
Lorna McGuinness (17) from Malahide sat the higher paper.
"It wasn't too bad of a paper actually, I think it went pretty well. I found the ABQ (Applied Business Question) to be the most difficult. The first section of it was particularly hard. Some of the finance parts were difficult as well. I found the long questions to be quite easy and broad, I'm hoping I did enough to get a B", she said.
Phillip Fortune (17) from Donaghmede said: "It wasn't too bad it was a decent paper, quite nice. I thought the ratio question was a bit difficult but I actually found the ABQ to be quite easy. The long questions had some tricky parts but you were able to avoid a lot of them and they were all mainly manageable. I'm confident I did well."
Dillon Pugh (19) from Clontarf added: "I thought the paper was quite easy but I found it time wise to be difficult, having enough time to do the questions. The ABQ was fairly good and the short questions were mostly fine. The long questions were all right some were a bit difficult, but I'm hoping for a B".
Meanwhile, the ordinary level paper received more of a mixed response from students. July Deasy (18) from Clondalkin said: "I thought it was ok considering I hadn't done too much work for business. I thought the human resource question was good, but I found some of the short questions to be very hard particularly the abbreviations".
Sarah Sullivan (18) from Kilbride agreed: "I thought the short questions were very hard, but the rest of the paper was ok. The business in action question was very nice and I think I did quite well".
Jennifer Whelan (18) from Rathgar was very pleased with how it went. "The questions were brilliant and really straight forward I thought, loads of nice questions came up. I thought there were some tricky questions on business management and human resources but other than that it was really good. I really hope I got an A1".
