An American woman and her pet cat have spent the past two years travelling to some of earth’s most far flung places after embarking on a life changing trip together.

Lisa Clark has been sailing around the world on a fibreglass boat with her cat Amelia since she adopted the abandoned kitten in November 2013.

The San Diego woman documents her adventures on her blog Swell Voyage where she admitted that she’s always had a dream to sail the world.

Clark and Amelia have sailed along the western coast of Mexico, to Central America as well as the South Pacific.

Speaking of her pet Clark told Buzzfeed that Amelia has adapted to a life at sea.

“She has adapted to living surrounded by water. “She’s learned to trust that she will be safe with me.

“On calm nights, she fishes off of a soft top surfboard attached to the side of Swell with a small light that attracts fish,” Clark said.

The blogger admitted that whenever she longs to end her adventure, she merely looks up at the stars for inspiration.

“I sleep on a pool mat under the stars “But I feel rich when I look up at that night sky and breath the fresh ocean air and leap into the sea each morning.”

This whole nervous storm preparation really wore her out...we're all tucked in, anchor set..
