Recently, I bumped into a friend of mine who loves her designer clothing. That day, she looked stunning, dressed in a cobalt blue, pussy-bow dress. Proudly, she told me it was iClothing and it cost her just €59.95.

iClothing is an Irish-owned online fashion store, an 'e-tailer' as the parlance goes, dedicated to the Irish market. It was founded by Abbas Bari in 2011. His family has been part of the Irish fashion industry since the 1970s, involved in manufacturing, wholesale and retail.

Though Abbas grew up in fashion, he trained in softwear engineering. Abbas found the whole emerging trend for e-commerce fascinating and that, combined with his family background and connections, led to the creation of iClothing.

Five years on, iClothing is Ireland's favourite online fashion store. Based in Dublin, it has its own teams of designers, stylists, photographers, graphics artists, and so on. Because of Abbas's love of new technology, iClothing is the only online fashion store in Ireland to be mobile accessible on IOS, Android and tablet devices. Even I, an online shopping philistine, know just how easy that makes shopping when on the go.

What I quickly came to appreciate about iClothing is their knowledge of the Irish market - our needs, our social lives, work lives and so on - and how the e-tailer works to meet our needs.

"We strive to design good quality commercial pieces at affordable price points," Abbas says. "When designing for each season, we always aim to be ahead of the curve in anticipating which prints and shapes are going to really satisfy our customers needs."

Which means that right now, iClothing is abundant with festival and holiday wear, as well as gorgeous dresses to wear to family occasions or debs.

The iClothing look is decidedly feminine, while being very on trend. I found lots of gorgeous dresses, wide-leg print trousers, cool long shorts and culottes, fashion trainers, ballet pumps and the especially cool stripe cape (see the last page of our spread).

For occasion wear, retro looks, especially those of the early 1960s, are a key trend which iClothing has well covered- think full-pleated skirts and dresses, cropped jackets, skinny knitwear. There are long dresses, great for either bridesmaids or debs, work dresses, and casual wear. Most are available from size 8 to 18, shoe size 3-8. iClothing also carries a capsule range of size 18-24. The site thinks of our coordinating needs, too - it also does shoes, bags, jewellery and some beauty products. "Our ranges are constantly evolving and we also stock dozens of high-street fashion labels," says Abbas.

And now for even better news - for the month of June, the site is offering an exclusive 20pc discount to LIFE readers. Just add the code LIFEMAG when shopping on Have fun!
