This teenager accidentally bought his girlfriend 144 pairs of cosy socks for Christmas.

Jackson Wade Knight, from Georgia, had a simple request from his girlfriend of what to get her for Christmas - some fuzzy socks.

Jackson (18) ordered her a dozen pairs of cosy socks, but when the package was delivered to his house the next week, he knew something had gone wrong.

"I ordered my girlfriend a dozen pairs of fuzzy socks and they sent me 12 dozen making 144 pairs of fuzzy socks," he wrote on Twitter, alongside a photo of a mountain of socks.

The company charged Jackson for just the original order that he made, however, and not the extra 11.

“So, everything was good on my end,” he told Buzzfeed News.

“They just messed up the order. Just a happy accident.”

As for the 132 extra pairs of socks, Jackson said he's going to give them to his friends and family and a homeless shelter.

“The first thing I did was contact the company and see if it would be possible for me to return them, because that’s a lot of money worth of socks,” he said.

“But I called them a few days ago and they didn’t answer.”

“I know some people were saying I could make a mad profit off them, but I think I’d rather play Santa Claus and either give them to my friends and cousins or go bring them to a homeless shelter."

Jackson's post has received over 8.7k likes since he shared it last week, with users telling him he is about to make his girlfriend "the happiest girl in the world."

"You, sir, have just become the world's greatest boyfriend," wrote one user.
