Garry Ringrose was in his tux all weekend as he attended the fourth annual LauraLynn Heroes Ball at Dublin's Clayton Hotel, Burlington Road on Saturday night followed by The Leinster Rugby Awards Ball at the InterContinental Dublin the next night, where he was accompanied by his girlfriend, Ellen Beirne.

Garry was very much in demand for photos on the red carpet at the Saturday ball in his capacity as Ambassador for the LauraLynn, Ireland's Children Hospice.

Alan Hughes MC'd the ball and was photographed with Lisa Fitzpatrick, who lives in LA but pops home regularly to see family here. Alan told me how with the help of Ireland AM viewers, he has raised over €350k for the hospice charity.

Robbie Henshaw

It was certainly my week to meet rugby players and in Rathmines I met Robbie Henshaw of Leinster and Ireland, where he cut the ribbon on the latest NCBI shop where there was a lovely launch party. Robbie has partnered with the NCBI to educate and empower those who struggle with sight loss or eye issues by donating a percentage of every sale from his Henshaw Eyewear range back to NCBI.

Rugby captain-turned-manager, Leo Cullen and his wife, Dairine Kennedy — one half of the KDK lifestyle fashion brand — attended the Leinster Rugby Awards Ball at the InterContinental Hotel in Ballsbridge, hospitality partners with the blues.

Feeling chipper…

Renaissance woman, Maria Fusco, who is designing something wonderful near Naples tells me that Wednesday, May 22 marks the 10th anniversary of the Irish Traditional Italian Chippers Association's annual fish and chip day, and members throughout the country will be offering customers half-price fish and chips.
