Youth arrested for indecent exposure to woman in park
A JUVENILE has been arrested after an indecent exposure incident in a Dublin park.
He is alleged to have exposed himself near a mother-of-three who was out on her morning walk.
The incident happened in the Griffeen Park area of Lucan in Dublin at around 10am on Tuesday.
The woman was enjoying a walk in the park, which leads into Hayden's Park and the Hanstead estate, when she noticed a "young lad" sitting on a footbridge.
As she made her way around a loop at the bridge she encountered the youth and was alarmed that "something wasn't right".
The boy then proceeded to expose himself.
The woman, who did not have her phone on her to call for help, ran back to her home to notify gardai.
Officers from Lucan Garda Station responded and detained a person who matched the description of the alleged flasher.
A garda spokesperson confirmed that a juvenile male was arrested in connection with the incident.
They added that he was released without charge to be dealt with under the Garda Youth Diversion programme.
In a separate incident more than a year ago, a man was arrested after complaints were made of a male exposing himself in the Lucan area.
Parents were warned of an individual allegedly behaving in an indecent manner to school children.
Teenage girls on their way home from class reported that a man had flashed at them in Willsbrook Park which is close to several primary and secondary schools.
Gardai investigating the allegations arrested a man in March last year.
He was later released without charge and a file was sent to the DPP.
