Young man killed overnight after he is struck by two cars while crossing the road

A man in his late twenties was killed overnight after he was struck by two vehicles on a Dundalk road.

The pedestrian was fatally injured at approximately 3.15am on the Old Newry Road, Dundalk, Co Louth.

Gardaí confirmed the man was struck by two cars as he crossed the road.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers of the cars were uninjured.

The road at the scene is closed to facilitate an examination of the area by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
