A young man, possibly from Kilkenny, has become Ireland’s latest Lotto millionaire after scooping a whopping €6m prize.

The winner celebrated his news with his wife and a few family members who accompanied him to the Lottery offices today.

“It feels like I’m having an out of body of experience,” he said today.

“I always said I’d win the Lotto one day, but I didn’t really believe it would happen, and certainly not this soon – it’s unbelievable”.

The man, who collected a cheque for €5,935,632, won the jackpot last Wednesday after he bought his Lotto Quick Pick ticket in the Spar/Esso in Irishtown, Kilkenny. He wished to remain private.

“It couldn’t have happened to a better lad – he deserves all the happiness in the world”, said the winner’s mother.
