Young man (21) pronounced dead at scene of early-morning crash

A YOUNG MAN has been killed in an early-morning crash.

Gardaí in Gorey, Co Wexford are investigating the fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Ballycanew Co Wexford this morning.

The collision between a car and a truck occurred at approximately 5.25am on the Ballycanew to Wexford road, one mile outside Ballycanew.

The car driver (21) was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. His remains have been removed to the mortuary at Wexford General Hospital. The driver (29) of the truck was uninjured in the collision. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

The road is closed to facilitate a Forensic Collision examination and local diversions in place.
