University College Dublin welcomed large numbers of students, staff, alumni and people from the community for the second UCD Festival over the weekend.

The campus saw a number of entertaining events on Saturday as young and old enjoyed a day of family fun in the south Dublin university.

The festival featured many leading lights, including Jim Sheridan pairing up with Gráinne Humphreys for the 'Scribble to Screen' event.

Over 60 events took place throughout the day, including talks, interactive exhibits, science displays, creative workshops, live performances, lots of family fun and tours of the state-of-the-art campus.

For alumni that were celebrating their milestone anniversary a special 'Bubbles and Brunch' event also took place at the festival for classes of 1977 and 1987 and for the BCL classes of 1982 and 1992.

There was also a lunch held for former UCD GAA players which included a panel discussion with past and present stars.
