A Dublin Airbnb host is offering visitors a "luxurious camping" experience by letting them sleep in his back garden for €87 a night.

The home-made teepee, located in Dublin's North Strand, is situated behind host Ciaran Adamson's house and just five minutes away from Croke Park.

Based on the design of an authentic Sioux teepee, Mr Adamson described his creation as a "magnificent structure" with an insulated timber floor covered in rugs and electric power points.

Outside the tent are several seated areas in the garden, including a toilet and modern shower facilities.

Speaking to the Irish Independent, Mr Adamson said he had received a "huge reaction" since putting his teepee on the hosting website.

"I've only put it up about two weeks ago and I'm already booked up for August and September," he said. "I'm in the design industry and owned a teepee as a child so about a year ago I decided to go ahead and build one of my own.

"It's made out of an old sail from a yacht and to be honest it has probably travelled more than the two couples who have stayed in it."

Mr Adamson, of Ciaran Adamson Design, added that he believed the €87 price was a fair deal.

"I just thought it would be a very good way to make a bit of money during the summer months and also a great way to meet people," he said.
