FRIENDS and family of a young student who has been missing since Thursday night have carried out door to door searches for the young man.

Michael Bugler (20) was last seen leaving the Quays bar in Galway city at around 1am on Friday morning. His family and friends became worried when they did not hear from the young student since.

Gardai have appealed for the public’s assistance in tracing the third year law student, who is originally from Ennis Co Clare.

His sister Laura has appealed for anyone with information to get in touch in a social media post.

“If anyone has seen him or heard from him please get in contact. If anyone has friends around Galway who might have seen him I'd really appreciate it if you could share this also,” she wrote.

Friends and family carried out door to door searches in the Gort na Coiribe student complex yesterday after reports of a sighting of the young man.

The missing man is described as being 5’9” in height, of thin build with short brown hair and blue eyes.

When last seen he was wearing a grey coloured jumper and jeans.

A garda statement said gardai were concerned for his welfare and asked anyone with information to contact them at Galway Garda Station  on 091 538000, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station
