Matchmaker Willie Daly may soon be plying his trade on the romantic boulevards of Paris with plans to host a version of the Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival in the world capital of love next year.

Paris-based Irishwoman Patricia Killeen will host a festival of culture, dancing and matchmaking in Paris next September and hopes the Co Clare matchmaker will attend and tell the locals what he knows about love.

Patricia wrote a thesis on the Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival at the Sorbonne University last year and last month made her first trip to Lisdoonvarna to see the festival. The Paris Matchmaking Festival will include a number of Irish cultural and artistic events but the main focus will be on dancing and love.

"I am so enthusiastic about bringing the Matchmaking Festival to Paris.

"I was very impressed with Willie Daly and his daughter, and I would love it if they can all come over to Paris," she said yesterday.

According to Patricia, the single people of Paris are crying out for someone like Willie Daly to help them fix their love lives. "I think the people of Paris will take to matchmaking straight away.

" I have many single friends and they are so fed up with Tinder and all the websites. People are getting more and more into going out and dancing again," she said.

She said she hoped people from Lisdoonvarna would travel to Paris for the festival.
