Woman rescued from house fire

AN ELDERLY woman was rescued from a blaze yesterday as fire ripped through a house.

The woman was taken to Kerry General Hospital where she was treated for smoke inhalation. However, it is understood she did not sustain serious injury and walked from the burning house assisted by members of the fire brigade.

Neighbours raised the alarm when they saw smoke coming from the house at Countess Grove on the Countess Road in Killarney about 3pm.

Gardai are not treating the fire as suspicious.
