Woman killed in three-car collision

A woman has died in a three-car collision in Co Kilkenny.

The incident occurred shortly before 8.30pm this evening on the N25 Waterford to New Ross Road.

The female fatality, believed to be aged in her late 50s, was the only occupant of the car she was driving. 

A lone male student was the driver of one of the other vehicles.  A couple were in another car involved in the collision. 

They all suffered non-life threatening injuries and have been taken to University Hospital Waterford where they are receiving treatment. 

The road is currently closed, and diversions are in place.

Yesterday a man out walking was killed in Co Cork

The incident happened this morning at 1.55am in Durrus Co. Cork.

The man was hit by 4x4 vehicle on Kilcrohane Road (L4704), Durrus. He was treated at the scene where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
