Woman killed in three vehicle road accident

A WOMAN has been killed in a three vehicle accident in Schull in Co Cork this afternoon.

The accident happened at around 4pm, and involved two cars and a mini-bus.

A woman in her 60s, the driver of a car, was fatally injured.

Her body has been taken to Cork University Hospital.

The female driver of the mini-bus was also removed to CUH, but is not thought to be seriously injured.

There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the crash.

The female driver of the second car was not injured.

The road remains closed and Garda forensic collision investigators are examining the scene.

Gardai are seeking witnesses to the crash and anyone with information is asked to contact Bantry Garda Station on 027 20860.
